Stencils (or masks) are a hot trend in the paper crafter's world right now. They are an inexpensive way to add interest and dimension to your cards and scrapbook pages.
There are many, many products to use with your stencil- here are a few of the most common ones:
$3.75 for two bottles….make your own mists and save money!
· Dauber and ink
· Texture paste
I did not have a card sample to share for texture paste but here is a scrapbook page sample with texture paste for added dimension.
· Acrylic paint
· Stipple brush
Stampin’ Up! has several super economical choices for you when it comes to stencils. Check them out on page 157.
Hearts and Stars #133777 $3.75 two stencils in pack
Dots and Stripes #133775 $3.75 two stencils in pack
Happy Patterns #138313 $7.50 four stencils in pack
You do not have to purchase stencils, be innovative in your thinking and you can come up with ideas like these:
· Use a punch to create a stencil
· Use a framelit die as a stencil
· Use an embossing folder as a stencil alternative
I encourage you to try some of these techniques with stencils and stencil alternatives. Be sure to share your creations….I would love to see what you create!
Inky hugs ‘til next time!
